new digs and new thoughts

tonight i was really encouraged church in the young professionals class. our leader has started a little series on really reading the bible, as in reading it often, reading it deeply, and reading it like we should. i have to confess, this past summer i was very depressed and frustrated with God to the point of not wanting to talk to Him or pray to Him or sing to Him. this has changed a lot for the better, however, and i am gladly journeying back toward greater intimacy with Him. jen has been there for me every step of the way, ministering to me and sharing words both kind-hearted and butt-kicking. i want a relationship with God like what i used to have, or even better. i'm thinking after tonight that some more intensive time in His word meditating would be conducive to such growth, so with that i am actually gonna try to make a time during each day where i can read something from the word and reflect on it. maybe there'll be an update, or maybe i'll keep it in the prayer closet. i dunno. we'll see!

the apartamente is all spiffed up and bachelor padded now that lance and i have moved in. i love getting a new place set up, opening the blinds so the sun can shine in, and figuring out what the living room is going to look like. i love putting together complex pieces of furniture, putting my books in order on a shelf, and hanging up all of my clothes just so. i love order.
it's a good thing.
i'm really not ocd, i promise, but there is something satisfying and gratifying about being completely moved in, all spotless and clean. love it, especially getting into bed and the covers being all tight until you yank on them to get all snug and perfect. good stuff. :)

great roommate, great spacious living area, and especially great proximity to the lovely jen maddox. lovin' it. methinks a house-warming (or apartment-warming?) party is in order? that's another thing, i would love having guests in my new place to enjoy it and hang out. not all the time. just sometimes, ya know? anyway, i guess that's an unofficial invite. take it how you want to. later!
