run down the aisle
13 December 2004

some of you may have guessed that geocaching is "the new crack" i mentioned in my previous post. it rocks!

know what else rocks? finals are done. finito. zip. zilch. nada. gone!

get me to atlanta asap. i am ready for an awesome Xmas vacation. can't wait to geocache this trip like a mug. jen and i are so excited to finally spend a little more time together this week. it's been too sparse with the end of the semester waxing uber-busy.

i didn't get to go to church this morning. it really hurts when i miss it. it also hurts when the people that run the macaroni grill on 231 don't know how to cook right, and thus send the bowels of my stomach into the bowels of hades! seriously, it pains me when i miss out on communion, corporate singing, prayer, buddy's great too, etc. i did get some time to think about other cool Godly stuff, though. i've been dwelling on some material i'm writing, songs and poems and such, usually in a very minor key. (i love them minor keys.) will and i have talked a bunch this whole semester about the kinds of things that we the Church sing about. it seems like for the whole breadth of human experiences and perceptions of who God is, we don't really reflect that in our singing- cue the happy song about eternal damnation, or the rest that are either in the key of prozac or zoloft.

a lot of my writing has reflected the lamentations of the israelites, the outcries of david, and the identity crisis of the Church. who do we think we are? for real, guys.

yeah, hurrah, God is good.
yeah, hurrah, God is great.
3 cheers for Jesus, He's my homeboy.

give me a break, and cue up wedding dress.
