romance and resumes

i would like to retract all previous statements about valentine's day, seeing how i'm now playing on the team with the gangster of love, cupid himself. heck, when you're madly in love, why not make valentine's a whole week long? the skinny: i picked jen up the saturday before for some crappy waffle house breakfast (i can't believe it was that crappy... our eggs sucked). anyway, that plan fell through, so i ended up taking her home for some relax time, and presented her with a gift for 2!

jen and i now have matching hebrew bands, each inscribed with a verse from the song of solomon:

"i am my beloved's and my beloved is mine." -song of solomon 2:16

the rest of the weekend leading up to valentine's day consisted of some nice romantic interludes. i surprised her with a nice dinner at bonefish grill after lifegroup, then a bouquet of roses and a tasty little treat on tuesday. she had no idea what cards i had up my sleeve, and it was great, just great. perfect. wonderful. fantastic. i love her.

she made me lunch on sunday and a candle-lit dinner on tuesday. that's all i needed right there. if there's anything that drives me crazy (in the really good way), it's being cooked for. and boy was she awesome! i actually had to take pictures of what she made, because it seriously looked like it came straight out of the cookbook and into the kitchen. my sweetheart is the best.

let's not forget my newest addiction, thanks to jen: the cellphone.

coolest. gift. ever.

i still keep my postulations on the "ball and chain theory" of cellphones. they really do tie you down. i mean, you can be reached anywhere at any time, and even if you choose to turn it off that's still no excuse, because the point of having it is so that you can be found and harassed on a whim. i rant about this, but it's not really a big deal. i don't mind people tracking me down. it's actually fun because i at least have the cool music ringtones on my razr. i mean, who doesn't want to hear chris tomlin wailing "indescribable" every time they get a call? lovin' it.

well, i'm stalking the job market now, getting ready for a move to the atl. i've applied for about 25 jobs in the last 4 days, and gotten 3 offers to interview from places i'm nowhere near interested in. no, i don't wanna be a camp counselor. no, i don't wanna be a traveling salesman. no thank you, mr. telemarketer vp, i don't wanna be another minion to haunt unsuspecting families at dinnertime. anyway, in the quest for a meaningful job in the real world, i'm linking my resume on here from now on until i find something fitting.

find my resume here.

it will also be on the sidebar as a permanent link for a while. i'm welcoming any advice or comments on it, and if any of you reading this out there have a connection or 2, feel free to help a buddy out. these days, it seems to be all about who ya know. i'm not assuming that i'll land the perfect dream job, but i think it's fair to hope for a good one.
