...hibiscus petals and my photo of me...
i've left out so many things from the last couple of weeks due to all of my busybody things going on. last week i headed to atlanta for a funeral, church o' Christ style. this was my first real funeral, y'all. is that weird, being 24 and never having gone to a funeral service? i must say, it was pretty quiet and a little somber, except that toward the end there was a hilarious video of the life of the man who'd passed on. it's interesting how at events like funerals and weddings there tend to be things like these videos, and photo albums, and all sorts of memorabilia.
i tell you the truth, every big event of my life will have pictures shared around the table. i love nostalgia. i love looking back and seeing what has happened, and what shapes a person into who they presently are. it's cool. i tie it to my love of psychology, and what makes people tick. a pair of old shoes, a yellowed photo, and an old bible can tell you so much about a person. it's things that have come along on the ride with us and captured our lives at their best and worst. things that have aided us in our accomplishments, or led to our ruin.
back in the real world now, i still have 5 cameras to get developed. what fun will i have looking at that nice fat batch of pictures?
