i had a beautiful experience today. i would've thought i would not enjoy waking up early once more to go to class, much less summer classes (and even much more less classes that are not even in my major, just little piddly core classes). i was wrong. i had one of those bizarre "everything-is-beautiful" moments in my intro. to biology lecture. not from the class material, but from the teacher! i had never seen dr. mhlanga before on campus, but she has got to have one of the most beautiful accents i have ever heard. it is distinctly south african (she's from zimbabwe) and flavored with european english. i had to fight to stay awake in class, not because it was boring; on the contrary, it was quite interesting, but her voice was almost hypnotic. now i'm not lusting after this woman or her voice, but i am very honestly and honorably just saying that this teacher is a classic beauty, like there should be a centuries-old painting of her somewhere.

that's my random observation. just appreciating one of God's many gorgeous creations. it could've been a frog, or a brick, or a sunrise, or the sound of my truck engine starting up, but nope! God used a beautiful woman to strike awe and worship in my spirit. just enough enjoyment to counteract the disgust of seeing the syllabus for my geography class. major suckage.

on to other news: the one campaign. help fight poverty and global aids. as individuals we cannot hope to fight this, but as one we have a chance. this is just one of many avenues Christians (and people in general) can take to be a part of social justice.
clothe the naked.
feed the hungry.
heal the sick.
set captives free.
if your blind eyes have been opened by this, how can you just stand idly by and watch?
