happy b-day to me!

so no, it's not official yet, but thursday, the 26th, is the big 24 for me. shouldn't i be out of college by now? at least well into grad school. but nope. not yet. let's just blame it on "God's timing." really though, it's good to be where i'm at in life i guess. a lot different from last year. i was in indiana helping brian out with new life. awesome times out there, but the big 23 was spent alone with nada to do. i think i ate a box of twinkies to fend off the loneliness. on second thought, make that 2 boxes of twinkies and a few dairy queen strawberry milkshakes. i gained 12 pounds that summer. unfortunately, i would have actually liked to have kept it on. but back to the b-day, i'm about to hit 24 and i am so happy to have an incredible woman to share it with. with the exceptions of #18 and #21, every birthday since i was a teen has really just been quite boring and without spark. just another day. like any other day. ya know, for that matter i've been the same way about holidays. just another day to sleep in or work, pay off more bills, be alone, etc.

well not this thursday! by God, it will be a good birthday! i will do something worthwhile! something i've never done before! i don't know what the crap it will be just yet, but let me stew over it and i'll find something.
