bang-up summer ahead

enjoyed the coffeehouse out in troy this past saturday. the music was pretty good, not the best, but it was fun, so that makes it good in my book. got to meet the fabled jt of cornerstone past. cool guy. chatted with matt a bit, and i may be able to play some in the next coffeehouse coming up in the fall. sweet.

random enjoyment from the coffeehouse: having a cute little retriever puppy sleep in my lap and play with me while i listened to the music.

one thing i definitely did not enjoy: (i never thought this would happen to me. ever.) said puppy's momma jumping up on top of me and proceeding to nurse her offspring. one hair short of traumatic. i could only stare in paralytic shock at what was happening in front of me. on my very own lap.

so i had to let work know that i wouldn't be in until later today, to top off the many days this past month or so that i've had to take off for jamboree, tests, traveling, finals, yada yada yada... and i imagined that they would probably be pretty ticked off by now, but apparently not, thanks to my diehard best friend, the planner. ever since i came into possession of this black leatherbound companion, i have had nothing but success at impressing older folks. look at the david oleksa fellow. shnazzy! i am so the stylish overachiever now that i have the planner to flash around. i could be president of the united states if i decided to keep this one up!

but really, in the world of work i am having bootyloads of success lately. we have gone from having about 6 math teachers on staff to only needing 2 for the next few weeks until we pick up more 1-to-1 students. it's just that time of year where kids are not coming or their program is over until the fall or whatever, so their numbers are dwindling rapidly. but anyway, we only have a need for a couple of teachers, and who gets to be one of those teachers? yours truly! rock! and on top of that i just got in a new student who needs help in intermediate spanish and trigonometry. i now teach her 1-to-1 for 3 hours every tuesday and thursday. i am set for the next few months.

got to meet with the dean today, and boy am i pumped about this next year. i had no idea i would be on the same page with the administration on so much stuff. it really looks like some great changes are being made, and i am very glad to get to be a big part of that whole process. time to split; i gotta work on some web content to be implemented when the new faulkner website kicks off this summer. to be featured: a brand spanking new sga site with the works. i am thrilled.
