a dream coming true?

life just keeps getting crazier and crazier! i've thought that perhaps my post of a few days ago was a little over the edge as far as overcommitting myself. though there may have been many things on my list, i never did take into account that most of those things don't require a whole bunch of my time, just a meeting here and a phone call there. but anyway, that's not what the craziness is all about.

i'm in a band. it's kinda low-key a little, just in that "don't-tell-everybody-about-it-until-we-are-ready" kind of way. a group of friends and i have been hanging out and just worshipping a lot together, and now this beautiful development has grown out of our friendships. it was like one day we were just talking and the next thing we knew we were sitting together in a church building or an apartment just writing music and singing. definitely a God thing.

so that's the intro to the craziness. cut to the present: somehow people we know not of have been getting word of this band and have been contacting us about traveling to lead worship and sing and play for them. a guy up in birmingham called one of our members about wanting to hear a demo. if he likes it then we may be opening for barlow girl and kutless. that is insane. opening at a Christian concert?! what on earth is God up to?!

so bobby is on his way to b'ham right now with a demo that we all got together and recorded last night. it's just one song: still i worship, which we just started singing at the warehouse on wednesday nights. this whole thing is starting to spread like wildfire. i called my roommate rob today and he surprised me by playing a copy of the demo over the phone. why was i surprised? if rob has a hold of it, then it will probably find its way into the ears of other people. gotta love roomies!
