the adventures of dao, part 3
15 January 2005

time to finish off the "trilogy of thrillogy" with an account of my most quacktastic time in nashville... again. yes, i went back to nashville, only this time for the passion '05 conference. it was too much! john piper, beth moore, and louie giglio spoke on things focusing around God's Christ-centeredness. it was very inspirational. there were many breakout sessions that went on in the daytime, with a variety of speakers like josh harris, heather mercer, and tim elmore. the worship was without parallel as charlie hall, matt redman, chris tomlin, david crowder band, watermark, and shane&shane led us all into God's presence with tremendous passion for Him.

i got so much out of every session, every breakout time, and every worship block, but where i felt the most growth and spiritual encounter was in the community groups. you see, out of all 15,000 of us college folk, there were 12 different colored bracelets dispersed, so no 2 people in any group were likely to have the same color. once we all had our bracelets, louie informed us that we would be breaking into community groups all across downtown nashville according to our color. i lucked out and only had to cross the street to the convention center, but some folks had to walk 7 blocks away to places like the war memorial. anyway, i go to this community group and find that none other than nathan and christy nockels of watermark are our community worship leaders. they were so in touch with God during those 4 days of pure and total worship. the community activities were facilitated by brad horton, the college minister of northpoint community church. they helped break us all into groups of 8-10 people. there were some pretty cool folks in my family group. we had a lot of time to share, pray, and chat with each other in between sessions at our community times. definitely met a lot of cool people. anyway, i now have some long-distance friends to keep in touch with.

after 4 days in nashvegas we all came back home, where i promptly had to lead singing for the last night in the upper room. :(

sad to see it go, but we have now moved into the warehouse (aka the gym), which is megasweet. time to hasta! thus ends "the adventures of dao, part 3!" we are now returning to our regular programming.
