what on earth have i just gotten myself into?
seriously though, i'm a little weirded out by this. i tried out for the heck of it, not really knowing what to expect. i've never even seen a jamboree before, though if it's anything like singsong at acu then i have a good clue what i'll be doing. this should be loads and loads of fun. for real.
on a different note, i've remembered what it's like to wring my brain out on a computer screen. oh wait. that's what i do every week here lately. i just finished the final from hades, and couldn't feel better about how things turned out. praise Jesus for the gift of memorization with a splash of application.
it really is nice to shift the paradigm every now and then, especially when you've been down in the dumps and you get a kick in the teeth to remind you that life doesn't really smell unless you're busy making a stink over it. just a couple of days ago i was depressed and ready to be done with school forever. thanks be to God for refreshing. it's funny how buddy talked about times of refreshing last sunday. it was exactly what i needed for this week.
this scripture gets beat into the ground constantly, but it really does speak to me on a continual basis: romans 12.
do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
isn't it really the way of the world that when life hands you lemons you just sit there and pout; maybe squeeze em out so you can pour the juice in your eyes? i know, it's sick right? but that's what we tend to do with our problems, just sit there and whine or let them get worse and worse.
it is so exciting to know that through the power of the Holy Spirit i can seriously know and have full confidence that i am renewed every day to take on almost anything the devil can throw at me, and when times get tough i can always retreat to the shelter of my Father's wings. just some good thoughts to think for today.
