a nice surprise

the community here seems to find itself very bored quite often, and seeing as they are in the middle of nowhere, i can understand that; however, there comes a time every saturday night where these corny little races happen at some track in the backwoods, and everybody and their mom (literally) turns out to scream and whistle at automotives crashing into smithereens until 2 or 3 in the morning. hence the low church attendance every dry weekend in the summer.

so i was very surprised this morning to see some of my kids in church, even though they had gone to the races and stayed out superlate. maybe this is the start of a commitment? i encouraged them that i was really happy to see them this morning, and then watched them down their coffee like it was the sweet nectar of life.

i think i'm heading to the vine in louisville this evening. i absolutely love postmodern college services. my campus minister says i'm the postmodern poster child. true. all too true. i eat that stuff up; it's like OneDay03 all over again!
